Our first title - Deceit 2 - is an immersive social deduction multiplayer game that challenges players' trust. As we continue to expand our title portfolio, we are seeking a talented junior to mid-level Character Artist to join our team.
Joining our growing art team as a Character Artist you will be responsible for creating and implementing high-quality cosmetics that our players love. This role offers an exciting opportunity for creative individuals with a passion for gaming and a keen eye for digital fashion.
This is a hybrid role - the successful applicant will be expected to spend two days per week on site in Cambridge.
Responsibilities
- Design and create high-quality clothing items, accessories, and props for in-game characters, adhering to the established art style and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with the art and design teams to brainstorm and develop new cosmetic concepts that align with the game's themes and player preferences.
- Generate/Sketch concept art and gather mood boards to communicate ideas and inspirations effectively.
- Create detailed 3D models and textures using industry-standard software such as Maya, Blender, or ZBrush.
- Optimise assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity, considering the constraints of various gaming platforms.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders and playtesting sessions, ensuring a polished final product.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in character customisation and cosmetic design, incorporating innovative techniques into your workflow.
- Balance technical, gameplay, and artistic constraints and work collaboratively to reach solutions between disciplines.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong portfolio of artwork that demonstrates exceptional creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail.
- Clear knowledge of 3D modelling and texturing software, such as Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, and Substance.
- A thorough knowledge of PBR.
- Experience utilising online asset libraries to speed up workflows.
- Strong understanding of game development pipelines, optimisation techniques, and technical requirements.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

- Development experience on shipped titles.
